We are very excited about our new Music Minister and Office Administrator who will be joining the staff at MCCPB in January. On Sunday, January 4th, Jeremiah Cummings will lead music at his first service at MCCPB and then begin working with Pastor Paul in the office on Monday the 5th. We encourage everyone to come join us in worship on Sunday the 4th at 11am to welcome both Jeremiah and his partner Jeffrey to our church family.

Worship & Desperation CONCERT -- Oct 12th

Shawn will be debuting the new music and media worship materials from his new CD, on Sunday, October 12 at 6:30pm. Shawn has served as Music Minister and Administrator for MCCPB since the summer of 2006 and will be returning to full-time touring and concerts in January, 2009 to support the release of his project. The CD is called, "Worship & Desperation" and is made up of original praise and worship music intended for use in worship services. So come prepared to sing, worship, praise, clap, dance and celebrate! EVERYONE INVITED - BRING FRIENDS & FAMILY!

Come Be In Our Video for MCC!

On October 6, 2008, MCC will be celebrating its 40th year of ministry to the GLBT community and beyond. There are many events being planned to celebrate this significant milestone.

We at MCCPB, along with other churches in our denomination, have been invited to submit messages congratulating Metropolitan Community Churches on its 40th Anniversary -- if possible in video format. The videos will be available on the web to share with the world, and we invite you to take this opportunity to join us and show how proud we are of MCC.

We will be recording some footage immediately following church service THIS SUNDAY (Aug 31st). Come ready to participate. We'd love to have a great turn out!

Special Recognition Sunday -- June 8th

We are honored to lift up the ministry of our Pastor Emeritus, Marion C. Harrison. This month he celebrates 50 years in ministry and also the 25th anniversary of he and his partner, Wayne Johnson. Next Level Service -- "Father's Day" Theme

This month's contemporary praise and worship service, Next Level, will celebrate Father's Day a week early. Join us on Sunday, June 8th at 6:37pm. Part of the service will also be dedicated to the family of contemporary Christian artist and father of six, Steven Curtis Chapman, and to the loss of their 5 year old daughter, Maria Sue.

Movie Night: "For the Bible Tells Me So"

On Wednesday, June 18th, we’ll be hosting a pot-luck followed by the docu-movie, “For the Bible Tells Me So”. Potluck at 6:30pm — movie at 7:15pm.

Better Together Small Groups Begin!

Our study groups will commence on the 10th(Jupiter) and 11th(Lake Park, Lake Worth) of June. In addition to the home groups we will be holding a church based group on Sunday afternoon (first meeting on June 15th). The study groups will run through June and July on alternate weeks. We will be asking the question "What is the Purpose of Our Church?" To help us we'll be studying Rick Warren's "The Purpose Driven Church". Meeting locations are as follows:
Jupiter, Lake Park, and Lake Worth/Singer Island.

Mother's Day Next Level Service

Join us for our monthly contemporary praise and worship service, "Next Level". This month's service will celebrate Mother's Day with the theme, "Blessed is she who has believed..." (Luke 1:45).

The Next Level Service will meet on Sunday, May 11th at 6:37pm, and will include music, drama, media, and communion.

Liturgical Dance Workshop

SATURDAY, MAY 31st @ 2:00pm

This is a class open to ANYONE (dancers and non-dancers) who would like to learn more about liturgical dance and movement. Topics covered will include:
-- How to introduce movement/dance into an already established service.
-- How to incorporate movement/dance into scripture, hymns, and readings.
-- How to create and make up movement and choreography.
-- What to wear when presenting liturgical dance/movement.
-- How to use the space of the worship area/sanctuary.

Participants should wear comfortable clothing that is not restrictive to movement and be prepared to move and dance.

Holy Week at MCCPB

There are several opportunities in participate and worship with us during Holy Week and Easter.

* Our Good Friday Service will be held, March 21st at 7:00pm. This will be a moving service filled with music and reflection.

* On Easter morning, the MCCPB Choir will bring a special message in music with an Easter Cantata, "He Lives!" at the 11:00am service.

* In addition, we are invited to attend an Easter Sunrise Service at Kelsey Park in Lake Park south of Northlake Blvd. Service begins at 6:30am and will be followed by a pancake breakfast sponsors by the Lake Park Kiwanis Club.

* DON'T MISS OUT ON FOOD! Immediately after Easter Morning Service, we will have a special social luncheon with lots of goodies provided by the Lake Park Better Together Group.

Interfaith PRIDE Service

Join us for a special Interfaith Pride Service on Wednesday, March 26th at 7:00pm.

The service will be held at New Hope First Community Church, 2929A South Seacrest Blvd, Boynton Beach. (www.newhopefla.org)

The service will include participation from several different area churches and congregations of different faiths and denominations.

Palm Beach Pride (March 29-30)

There will be a meeting this Thursday (March 6), to discuss MCCPB’s participation in this year’s Pride event. We have already paid for display space at Bryant Park. If you have ideas for our display, our participation in the parade or can help with staffing during the weekend, please join us at 7.30 p.m. in the small meeting room at MCCPB.

MCCPB Group Cruise (Oct. 26 – Nov. 2)

This year we’re planning a group cruise to the Eastern Caribbean on the Crown Princess. To date more than 50 people have booked. In addition to having a great time, this is also an opportunity to raise funds for our church. For every 16 fares we purchase, Princess Cruises will donate the cash equivalent of one fare to MCCPB. We have already passed our third goal, and with your help we will make our fourth (64 guests). We still have cabins available at great prices, plus several people (male and female) who have already booked are looking for cabin-mates.

Home Study Groups Begin

40 Days of Community:
There are now 5 different locations hosting home study groups. They are in Jupiter, Lake Park, Lake Worth, West Palm Beach, and Okeechobee. Sessions begin next week and continue weekly through the week of Easter. Each group will be studying the same curriculum based on Rick Warren’s “Purpose Driven Life”, called “Better Together”. Voices of Pride sing at MCC Service

They're back! After performing a full concert at the MCCPB last month, the talented guys from "Voices of Pride" (VOP) are back to lead us in worship. Join us on Sunday, February 17th at our regular 11am service to hear these voices lifted in praise.

Lent Groups

During Lent (Feb. 11- Mar.19) we will be holding multiple home groups throughout our area. We have already confirmed meeting locations in Lake Worth, Lake Park, Jupiter and Okeechobee. We have an offer of a group location in the Acreage, and we’re still looking for a host in West Palm Beach.

Another Cruise Week Sale
